The NFL Combine is the perfect time for teams around the league to start meeting with prospects who are going to be in the NFL, as the Philadelphia Eagles met with a guy who can make an impact from Day 1.
While talking to reporters at the combine, Michigan edge rusher Derrick Moore shared that he met with the Eagles during his time there. Moore is talking about how the meeting with the team went.
"It was a great meeting," Moore said via Philadelphia Inquirer's Devin Jackson. "We just went in there, talked about myself, talked about my background, talked a little bit of ball, cracked a little bit of jokes."

Moore was one of the top pass rushers in the nation last year as he finished with a career-high 10 sacks along with 30 tackles, three pass deflections, and two forced fumbles. He was named as a first-team All-Big Ten selection and was part of the national championship team in 2023.
There is one player that Moore has been trying to model his game after: Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Jared Verse.
"I started to just watch what he does, and just do the same thing … everything in my toolbox is what he has."
The Eagles have edge-rush questions heading into the offseason, as they are losing some key guys like Jaelan Phillips and Joshua Uche. Phillips is in the mix to re-sign with Philly because he is a perfect fit for Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's scheme after their time together with the Miami Dolphins, but it will depend on contract negotiations.
If Phillips does not come back, there is some concern with the group, as the edge rushers struggled before they traded for Phillips midseason. Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt have the potential to be great, but depth is going to be key for the Eagles.
That's where Moore can come in and help the team out, as the last time the Eagles selected a Michigan defensive lineman in the first round, it worked out pretty well for them. That guy was Brandon Graham, and he became one of the best players in franchise history.

Moore would be a solid option, and it appears the Eagles are going to be keeping their eyes on him throughout the draft process.
